Columbia MD is an area that was founded by James Rouse back in 1967, and has since grown into a vibrant, thriving collective of communities that is truly a model of urban development throughout the U.S. Whether you're a resident of this great area, or if you're planning on visiting we invite you to check out some of our favorite spots to wine and dine in the greater Columbia region! There's plenty to do and see, so we'd like to share some of our experiences with you here.

If you find yourself with a hankering for some of the best barbecue, you truly owe it to yourself to check in over at Mission BBQ here in Columbia. If you're visiting Mission for the first time and finding yourself overwhelmed by the abundant choices, you can't go wrong in choosing the three meat sampler. This way you get to taste a variety of their delicious choices, and grab a side of Mac & Cheese which really pairs well with anything they offer. Another great perk of dining here is that it's pretty obvious that they treat their people well, as everyone is always smiling and genuinely helpful.

For some tasty food, and a wonderful selection of adult beverages... Our eyes always turn to Pub Dog here in Columbia. One big treat for those of you who haven't stopped in here before, is that they typically offer a complimentary shot of Grand Marnier to those who are of age. Our favorite choice in eating here, is the plethora of choices in pizza that they offer. But, whatever you choose, you're going to find that you really can't go wrong. As is typical to many bars, you'll want to check out their great prices during their happy hours (which can be found on their Facebook page). As the name suggests, you can even bring your dog along!

Simply stated, one might consider me a Kabob connoisseur. So, when I tell you that the Kabob Connection is "the real deal", you can rest assured that I don't take this assessment lightly. Located in the food court of the Columbia Mall doesn't take anything at all away from the fresh and delicious food that we've always had here. One of the favorite parts of eating here is watching the cooks prepare the meal. There's a certain comfort level that one can take away from seeing the food prepared right before your very eyes. The real "eye test" though, is when you sink your teeth into the perfectly spiced food. That is the real story!

While you don't always associate fine dining with strip mall restaurants, you can really and truly make an exception in the case of House of India. Don't make the mistake of blowing past this place in your hurry to get to the highway. Take the time to stop in1 You're surely going to enjoy whatever you choose. My personal favorite is the Chicken Tikka. The flavor is just exquisite! If you are a first timer, you might find that the lunch buffet is a perfect opportunity to acquaint yourself with the delicacies offered by the House of India. Just be sure to show up a little late, as they sometimes don't have everything up and running until around noon.
